Three musketeers for two European championships in the Pro-Am category: Jean-Luc BEAUBELIQUE, Mauro RICCI and Jim PLA for a winning trio!
Jean-Luc BEAUBELIQUE, Mauro RICCI and Jim PLA… character, experience, and identical goals: to enjoy themselves and to claim victory in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup! The trio will also take part in the GT World Challenge Europe, alternating between Jean-Luc and Mauro, while Jim, the team’s PRO driver, will compete in all rounds of the two championships. A superb challenge for a solid and motivated crew.
They have driven for the same team, for a long time for two of them, but not always in the same championships, and for 2019, for the very first time, Jean-Luc BEAUBELIQUE, Mauro RICCI and Jim PLA will be lining up together.
Jean-Luc and Jim, vice-champions in the 2018 French FFSA GT4 Championship, will continue the adventure they started together last year. A pair who work well together and both of whom have fine race-craft.
Jim Pla, a talented driver, extremely professional, has not been able to hide his pleasure at moving up to GT3 and the Blancpain GT Series while remaining with Policand and AKKA-ASP.
For Jean-Luc Beaubelique and Mauro Ricci, their experience of these championships will make all the difference. Both of them have been driving on the finest European circuits in the heart of the GT3 grids for a number of years. Jean-Luc has claimed a number of vice-championships since 2011 ( in the GT3 Pro-AM Cup, Sprint Cup and also Endurance Cup, without forgetting a category win the 24 Hours of Spa). As for Mauro Ricci, whether it is in the Blancpain GT Series or the GT Sports Club, after hundreds of kilometres behind the wheel of the Mercedes-AMG GT3, the beautiful German car holds (almost) no secrets for him.
The trio will take part in the 2019 Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup with the #87 Mercedes-AMG GT3 #87, while Jean-Luc Beaubelique and Mauro Ricci will alternate alongside Jim Pla in the GT World Challenge Europe. A fine alchemy for three determined drivers.
Jérôme Policand has trust in this ‘new’ line-up: “I am very happy that these three drivers will be able to run together. Thanks to Jean-Luc and Mauro for giving Jim this opportunity in GT3 ; he was a real revelation for me in 2018. I am convinced that they will be competitive as all three of them are ready for the challenge ahead.”
The first meeting will be during the official test sessions at the Paul Ricard circuit on March 13th and 14th.
